Safety footwear used in areas where the generation of static electricity could harm sensitive electrical equipment or ignite flammable materials. The footwear allows small charges of static electricity to be dissipated into the walking surface, thus reducing the accumulation of static electricity. Examples included people who work on circuit boards, computer chips or paint shops. These shoes should not be worn in areas where there are open circuits or highly charged equipment. All our ESD footwear meets SD Static Dissipative, ASTM F2413-05 standards. The ASTM F2413-05 standard states that a pair of footwear shall have a lower limit of electrical resistance of 1 megaohm and have an upper limit electrical resistance of 100 megaohms.
